I want to get our gas furnace worked on before the holidays, but every holiday season the whole family comes over to our place, and I have to cook and host. It is a lot of work with stress, however anything I can do early on I try to do so it is less work on me come the day. I get all the presents wrapped and under the tree weeks before. I make sure the house is cleaned up. I also cook and freeze part of the meal before the actual day, but the last thing I need to do is get heating serviced, my Heating and cooling supplier is making this next to impossible though, because Christmas is right around the corner as well as everyone wants their gas furnace worked on or tuned up, the competition is rough. The HVAC company has all their hours tied up after 4. So I would have to take the day off of work to get a heating service appointment in. I have tried other HVAC businesses, been put on a waiting list as well as even offered more money to come after 4 any day of the week. Nope, it is not looking great for me. My chances now are taking whole work day, service the gas furnace myself or just take a gamble on it. I really don’t want to do the work option, then can you imagine how horrible it would be if all of us lost our heating? That would really ruin the entire Christmas holiday. Not having appropriate heating would make everyone want to leave as well as all our work would be for nothing over an HVAC appointment.
