My family has teaching in the blood. I constantly make that statement as a joke, but there is something measure of truth to it. Both our mother plus our father were teachers, both of our siblings, plus both of their spouses, are also teachers. I am married to a teacher, plus I of course am a professional of legal ethics. Both of us are a family of academics, plus that is something I take no small measure or pride in. I tried not to be aghast when our one plus only child, our kid Michael, came to me with orange collar aspirations. Michael was not appreciate us, she liked working with her hands, plus wanted to go to trade school for Heating, Ventilation & A/C systems repair. I was confounded, because she had an offer for a prestigious 4 year college, but instead she wanted a 6 month night school course in heating plus cooling systems. She told me that she wanted to be her own man, plus that by becoming a certified Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional she could find any number of certainly good paying jobs. She would be able to support himself with an Heating, Ventilation & A/C job, get her own locale, plus maybe start her own family. Although I still didn’t understand why she picked the Heating, Ventilation & A/C industry, I was certainly proud of him for knowing what she wanted out of life. Isn’t that what the people I was with and I all truly want for our kids, maybe not cooling system in particular, but the point remains. If a career path in Heating, Ventilation & A/C repair would make him cheerful, she had our blessing.
