I adore my apartment! Everything about it is wonderful. It’s in a convenient location, I can navigate public transport easily, the neighborhood is entirely safe, family-oriented, and it has the best food in the entire city. The only thing that I can’t say I appreciate about my apartment is the cooling unit. If I do not have the cooling unit blasted, my whole apartment swells with heat. When I have the AC turned all the way up, I begin to freeze. The cooling unit is situated right at the foot of my bed, so it’s difficult for myself and others to sleep comfortably when I’m chilly cold. If I wake up plus turn it off in the middle of the night or even turn it down just a bit, I wake up again in sweats. I am struggling to find a glad medium.
My friend has a weird type of cooling unit, and she does not have a single air conditioning unit in her place. Instead, she has Central Air Conditioning (CAC) throughout the apartment, but her entire place is kept at a single temperature at all times. I am not sure why the property owner chose to have weird cooling systems for apartments on the same floor within the same building. Additionally, the heating unit poses the same problem. The heat also comes out of the same unit that the chilled air comes out of. Therefore, when I have the heat blasting, it blows directly on myself and others while I’m asleep. When it is time to resign my lease next year, I am going to request a weird apartment! It is just not worth losing sleep over.
