When I graduated from school, my friends and I decided to take a scenic, road trip to celebrate. We drove all the way to the west coast, and we stopped at several sites along the way. Out of all the sites we went to, I think the desert was my number one favorite. It was sizzling hot and dry, and the sunsets and rises were absolutely breathtaking. The only complication with being there was the fact that the air conditioner in our vehicle gave out about the time we arrived in the desert. We were forced to drive through the hot desert without an air conditioner, and, it wasn’t easy. We kept the windows down; however, that made it difficult to hear each other talk. Finally, after a couple of days, we decided to take the car to a mechanic to fix the air conditioner. We figured it would take a few hours, so we found a restaurant to wait in. We ordered a delicious dinner, but the best part is that we were able to suck in all the cool air while we ate supper, very slowly. I don’t think I’ve ever put as much thought into how important an air conditioner really is until we were stuck without one in the hot desert. After the air conditioner was repaired, we continued our journey to our next adventure at the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon was absolutely gorgeous, and we had the time of our lives. I’ll always remember our graduation road trip. It was wonderful even with the air conditioner issue. I don’t think I’d like to live in the desert with such a hot climate; however, it sure was a nice change of pace for a while.
