My mother passed away five weeks ago, and just a week later our father followed suit… After a month of dealing with the pain with our close family and friends, we began the process of dealing with our parents house finally. The very first thing we did was read the will and deliver money and items to the people that our parents suggested. The next step was getting the old house on the market to sell, and it was a pretty outdated and run down house, leading us to wonder on the value. My partner and I both thought that we would be able to get some good money out of it. I called up the local heating and A/C repair company to send out a certified repairman to check out the heating and cooling unit. I wanted to be one hundred percent sure that the air conditioning equipment was in the right shape to sell, however when the Heating and A/C repair person began to check out the heating and cooling system, he had some pretty awful news for us. From so much wear and tear and terrible upkeep, it was in terrible working condition. The heating and A/C guy told my loving partner and I that we would not be able to put the beach house on the market until we update the entire unit. This caught us both by sheer surprise and kind of added insult to injury! The family was just wanting to get this old house on the market so we can carry out what our parents wanted and be able to grieve finally; but the tech also suggested that we update all of the ceiling fans in the beach house to help boost the look and value of the outdated house. I am so incredibly overwhelmed I am leaving the rest of these decisions to my partner and my younger siblings.
