I recently took a getaway; Actually, it was more a task trip than a getaway, and I did have a lot of tasks that I needed to accomplish while I was there, but I did have plenty of time to also get out and experience the getaway-vibes. I was in a tropical location so the beach was especially enticing to me while I was there. By the end of the afternoon though all I desperately wanted to do was to get into my bed back in my room and enjoy the nice air conditioned room while I fell asleep to the distant sound of waves. Unfortunately a few nights in that all changed! The A/C system in my room quickly became so loud that I couldn’t even hear myself think, and every time I turned it on the noise was seriously distracting so I called the front desk when it got to the point I wasn’t able to concentrate on my tasks or fall asleep.The unfortunate situation was that there was not another room available for me to switch to that night. I brought the concern to the attention of the hotel staff. On the bright side, the next afternoon, the hotel sent up their Heating, Ventilation, and A/C specialist to hopefully service the problem. I took my job elsewhere that afternoon, and when I returned to the room later that night, the noise had not been resolved. It wasn’t until the afternoon after that when the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C repair person came back yet again that the issue was fixed. I was so ecstatic to have my peace and quiet back. The rest of the trip was amazing besides that little hiccup.
