When I let my partner move in, I knew things wouldn’t always be easy. We love each other very much, but that doesn’t always mean we see eye to eye. He seems to think he’s some kind of award winning chef, but honestly this guy cannot cook at all. I love him dearly, but he also loves to experiment in the kitchen and will not be stopped. I don’t mind. He pays for the groceries too, so he’s allowed to destroy some if he likes. Plus, I keep hoping that if he messes up enough eventually he will learn something from it.
My compromise was that we had to get an air purifier. We live in an apartment, so we can’t get an built-in air purification system for the HVAC unit. Instead, we just got a standing air purifier that does on room of the apartment. I keep it at the threshold where the kitchen meets the living room. This way, it keeps all of the smells from escaping into the rest of the apartment. The air purifier is super easy to use and maintain, and doesn’t pull a lot of power so I don’t see an increase on the utility bill.
This is a blessing, because I run it all the time. This air purifier has both a charcoal filter for smells and a HEPA filter to pick up tiny things like mold spores and dust mites. With the multi-part filter system, the air purifier both erases nasty smells and removes 99% of contaminants from the air, so we’re breathing healthier too!
