When we all visited relatives in the Midwest last week, we were lucky enough to have a home to stay in, however a friend of the family was out of town and let us stay in his place for the time we were going to see them… My brother and I took a small home office in the basement of the home while my mother took a home office on the 4th floor, then it was easily nice and we felt right at home, and there was only one single problem: the air conditioning system. The home central heating and air, and a control unit thermostat, however the temperatures in the 2 rooms were very different. One was cold all of the time. The bed I slept in was pushed up against a big window. At night, the cold air worked its ways into the room. Both my brother and I had to find additional blankets in order to be warm enough to sleep. On the other hand, the upstairs was warm and cozy all of the time. The a/c unit was so quiet we could hardly tell that it was finally working! You definitely couldn’t tell that it was by the temperature in that room. It is strange too because the thermostat control component was located right outside of the upstairs home office door. Anyways, my mom had to sleep on top of the covers and leave the fan on. I guess we can’t complain a lot. We had a good place to sleep and take a shower and it wasn’t costing us any money. An alternate Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C system is not much to have to put up with.
