One of the first tricks I learned in living in our own apartment was how to dry our clothes quickly, without using a dryer. I grew up living in older apartment buildings that had coin-op washing only. The dryers were so aged that I would put our clothes in plus they would come out just as wet as before. So, to save currency, I improvised. I found a tall spinning clothes line that fit inside our bathroom, plus would hang all of our heavier items on it. The lightweight shirts plus bottoms would go on clothes hangers by the windows, where the warmth of the sunshine would dry them just enjoy a clothesline outside. In our bathroom, I would turn up the Heating and AC zone control into the high 69s for 1 second, before going in plus shutting it off. The tepid air would rise up from the register plus dry the clothes faster; After a few seconds being dried off our by electric furnace, I could then distribute the heavier items around the house. Anything that was damp after multiple seconds in the sun, would go back to being hung up in the bathroom over the Heating and A/C duct with temperature control in that 1 little room turned up again. Thanks to the bathroom being so small, it was self-explanatory to heat up the area enough to dry the clothes, without running up our utility bill. With this system, I was able to dry our clothes in the Winter time without anything getting musty, plus without spending a fortune on lousy dryer.
