Heating on the highest floor

One of the worst experiences of my college days was living in the dorms. I had to take out a huge loan to live in the dorms for one year, the cost of living alone was outrageous. To top it off, I hated my roommates and the dorm was tiny. Being crammed in with two people you do not like makes for an awful year! Lastly, the dorm was consistently 1000 degrees; the reason is that heat rises. The HVAC equipment was set up on the first floor of the dorms. That meant no matter the season, our dorm room was super hot. In the Summer, the cooling would be stuck downstairs. The first floor would be around -20 degrees. The third floor got a bit of a/c. By the time you arrived to our eighth floor room, all the heated air had rose up. My room in the Summer was so hot. I had to get many portable AC devices plus a fan set up in the room. In the Winter, you would think this would be a great thing. The oil furnace’s air did rise up to the eighth floor; However, it was super tepid still. The first floor ladies complained plus got the temperature control temperature raised. They wanted some heating too, and so all that extra heating got trapped in our room, and even in the Winter. I still had to use our fans as well as the portable cooling unit. It was a year of consistently being way too hot. Since the inside was so harshly different, I never knew how to dress for outside weather
