The utilities in our city are owned by the local government. I suppose it is a pretty huge rest stream for them, if our electric bill is any indication. I try to conserve both water plus electricity, however even when I am easily careful our city bills can be so aggravating. I have consistently known that the greatest portion of the electric United States in a current home is the Heating plus A/C system. Anything that makes your oil furnace or air conditioner toil harder is costing you money. Because of that, I called in the specialist to do an energy audit of our house. I don’t own the house, I rent, but I was hoping there would be some simple things I could do to save on heating plus cooling plus other things that could decrease our energy footprint. It turns out there were a few things after all. First, there are small cracks between the bottom of the doors plus the floor. Those allow the air conditioner plus heating to escape, which means our central heating plus cooling system has to toil longer plus harder. The woman proposed I purchase in high-priced draft dodgers to place there. Second, the weather conditions control/energy auditor showed me that the caulking around our windows was looking pretty pathetic. To help our undefined out even more, I should re-caulk the windows. She looked at our air filter, plus much to our delight, she was gleeful that it wasn’t dirty. I do change the undefined air filters correctly! Go me! She did also say that the central heating plus cooling unit I have does not have a high SEER rating, however there is nothing I can do about that.
