The temperature is going everywhere

I was browsing the home appliance part of a local department store while my little wifey was picking out shoes.  Although there isn’t anything we need to replace or buy at the moment, I decided to look at what kind of current technology is out there now just out of pure curiosity’s sake.  I remember rolling my eyes when internet accessible cell phones were named “smart phones” about ten years ago and thought the name would never stick. I was wrong–now “smart” is used as a placeholder for anything that can be expanded with some basic wireless internet connectivity capabilities. Refrigerators are a great example. The “smart fridges” have a touch screen on them with varying features and functions from entirely controllable temperature sensitivity to remote controls via a cell phone application.  Then my eyes found the “smart temperature controls” for home Heating plus A/C systems. Aside from touchscreen capabilities and cell phone app controls, you can schedule cooling cycles to increase efficiency plus you can even let it run on it’s own auto cycle where it senses the best times to turn the program on or off and at what intensity to run it at while in any given moment. This is based on any number of variables the program can detect appreciate outdoor and indoor temperature fluctuations plus building occupancy levels at particular times of the morning.  Although I don’t have the cash for one now, I would really like to get a smart temperature control sometime. The thought of being able to turn my a/c on from my job with just my cell phone is extremely desirable. That means I never have to get out of bed just to adjust the temperature control, the possibilities are so tempting!
