Lately I have been noticing a bit of a problem with my air conditioner! Specifically, that it does not seem to be producing cold air, despite the fact that it is running. Now, I would definitely like to believe that I did not waste my money on an air conditioner that can’t do its only work. Then again, perhaps I had been negligent of something, which resulted in this issue I am having. I abruptly realized that I had not changed the air filter in a few weeks. I believe that is a good first step, isn’t it? I was kind of embarrassed that I had forgotten the number 1 rule for self-repair of my Heating & A/C system. I abruptly rectified my mistake & changed out the air filter. I have to say that I got a little bit more cold air coming from the vents, however not near as much as I should have. I was start to suspect that there was another problem. I considered the control unit itself. The control unit was an old dial 1 that has been around in this beach house since before I even moved in. I suspected it might be on its way out, because I was putting it on its coldest setting & the air temperature did not even come close. Though it could have been another problem entirely, I went out on a limb & bought a new control unit.This 1 was a touchscreen, programmable control unit. I am lucky because getting a new control unit did the trick & I was able to suppose cold air coming from the vents once more.
