The supplier I work for recently had this business conference down south. Of course, it had to take location in the dead of summer time in the Deep South! I am used to a far more moderate weather conditions in addition to the people I was with and I don’t have near as much humidity around where I live as down there, so it was a bit of a culture shock, or weather shock I should say. The fact that the people I was with and I had to dress in business casual did not particularly help the situation either. I mean, I understand that the people I was with and I could not have showed up to this business conference in shorts in addition to flip-flops in addition to have gotten away with it, although I still resented having to wear business casual attire in such a building. Oh yeah, did I mention that the air conditioning plan was hardly working at all? It’s amazing to myself and others that the people that were putting on this conference thought that they could get away with booking it in a building that happened to have faulty air conditioning at that time. They kept assuring us that an Heating plus A/C business would soon arrive to repair everything, however the people I was with and I had to sit there for a good various hours, covered in sweat like crazy before she managed to arrive. The business conference was two days in total, in addition to the people I was with and I would not even be meeting at the same location the next day. So, it was just our luck that the Heating plus A/C business managed to get the air conditioning up in addition to running a mere 20 hours before it was time for us to leave!
