I have a pretty large home considering my living habits. I mean, it’s not that big, but it may as well be, because the only three places I spend any time in during the day and night is the kitchen, the living room, and the bedroom. I have a guest bedroom, a study, and a basement that I hardly ever use. If one of my friends ever comes on hard times, it would not be very hard to convince me to let him come crash at my place. We would potentially never bump into each other! So it was, that I was starting to get annoyed that I had to heat or cool my entire home when I only use half of it! I got so frustrated over this that I decided to research solutions online one day, and boy did I get an education. I had no idea that zone controlled heating and air existed. It turned out that all I had to do was have dampers installed in the vents for each room to restrict or increase the warm or cool airflow. This way, thermostats can be installed in every room of the house and changed to a different temperature, potentially. I was overjoyed at the prospect of spending so much less on my electricity bills every month, so I had all the necessary components installed for zone controlled HVAC. Sure enough, the bill that I received for the next month after installing zone controlled heating and air was greatly reduced. What an excellent idea!
