At this point in time, I guess that everyone has heard of radiant radiant heated floors. Though the alternative heating option hasn’t exactly become a mainstream apartment fixture, there have been plenty of efforts to advertise the efficient heating option for a few years now! I think
I’ve heard all about the benefits of having toasty warmth beneath your toes from the moment you wake up in the day. There is no end to the fancy locales radiant radiant heated floors can benefit your life – whether you’re installing them right under your bed for a nice surprise in the day, in your master bathroom for after your shower, or even in your driveway to melt away snow every day. In fact, with all these assorted chances and uses throughout the house, the only thing I hadn’t ever heard of was radiant heated walls. I’m fairly sure that such a heating option doesn’t exist. But we almost had our own DIY radiant heated walls in my apartment just last week.
The attic in this apartment has been neglected for some time now, and as such, the aged insulation upstairs was wearing thin and breaking down over time, which we didn’t know.. Apparently a family of raccoons knew all about the condition of our insulation, and took their opportunity to rearrange the heat trapping microfibers. When they did so, it created large open pockets of area leading in between our walls which were immediately filled with hot air from the blazing sun overhead. Thanks to the long summertime sun, er had hot pockets in between our drywall pumping radiant heat into every room of the house. That is luxury!
