This past Winter season has probably been the worst one of my whole life. It’s been entirely tough on almost everyone. Our region has had almost six and a half months of non-stop snow, ice, & cold, unpredictable, un-even temperatures. Some of our neighbors are even considering up and relocating because they just don’t want to deal with it anymore or ever again. One thing nice has come out of it though, the two of us happened to have learned that alternative Heating & Air Conditioning systems are a nice thing to have. The people I was with and I lost power for almost a month at one point & the two of us needed a way to survive. Thankfully I have a close neighbor who works for a local Heating & Air Conditioning supplier. He was instantly able to hook us up with a propane powered gas furnace that, thank god, the two of us could use to keep section of the apartment warm enough to live. This indoor component wasn’t exactly enough to heat the whole apartment but the two of us were easily able to all congregate in the residing room, sleep on the carpeted floor, & not shiver all night long. The people I was with and I still had to go and shut off the water so that the pipes wouldn’t freeze but once the power came back on the two of us were still feeling really cheerful. Afterwards, I called to thank my neighbor for the suggestion & tell him as directly as I could that if they ever needed a letter of recommendation for their supplier, he should just let me know.
