A family friend

I have lived on the west coast for the majority of my adult life. I graduated from college here, have friends and family here, and I’ve been making a good living as a survival expert. After working my way up in the industry and making a name for myself, I have proven myself as an educator for the military as well. I’m so good, actually, that I was offered a position across the country! It is really worth doing so if you ask me, since it would really get me on the map for my career, and set me up for early retirement. I’m not really psyched to be moving to the east coast, but I think I’ll assimilate quickly. Most people on that side of the country have a reputation for being rude, but folks here are rude behind your back. Perhaps the former is better? The weather will legitimately be the toughest thing to get used to. It can get pretty brutally cold during the middle of Winter on the east coast, and while I’m trained to handle that weather, I’d rather not! Winter’s gonna be taxing to deal with. Having to use a gas furnace to keep warm and staying indoors is not my idea of fun times. I know it’s not like this all the time, however it just feels like it will be less charming. I will have to make sure to get a home with a nice Heating and A/C system so I’m ready for either temperature extreme.
