Bonus means heated driveway

My wife and partner of five years just got the promotion she’s been working towards over a year. I couldn’t be more proud of her; she’s been putting in brutal hours and negotiating a lot of tricky deals for her firm. Fortunately, her hard work has paid off in a big way. Not only is she getting a raise and a bigger office, but they also gave her a bonus! Apparently they were going to give her one anyway to celebrate her tenth year at the firm, but because of her recent work they tripled it! She couldn’t believe it; she told me it was all she could do to smile and not get flustered in front of the CEO of the marketing agency. When she came home, her first words were, “We have enough money that we are never dealing with ice again!” This is code for, my wife is putting her bonus towards fighting her nemesis–winter. We’ll need to park in the street for a few weeks while the HVAC company comes in and rips up the driveway to install the radiant heater system beneath it, but it’s a small price to pay. We’ll be able to sleep in together for a few extra minutes everyday. The best part is that the radiant heater system they’re putting in works with our current gas boiler. This has lowered the cost of the heated driveway, as we only need to extent the lines to the new radiant heater system, rather than install a whole new boiler. The heating and air conditioning company has even recommended a great driveway company to give us a better driveway top than we had before.
