I own a little bakery plus I have used the same boiler system since I opened the store. The boiler came with the store plus has been our most loyal companion. However, for years now it gave quality heating with no issue. The boiler never needed heating service or a gas furnace repair. This was good since when our store starting out, we could not afford big heating expenses. Now it has been years plus the boiler won’t turn on! It is the first time I need a boiler repair.
I have called several Heating, Ventilation & A/C companies plus I just can’t get 1. The main reason is because boiler service is not the norm for Heating, Ventilation & A/C workers. They need to be specially certified plus trained in order to handle the boilers, and most Heating, Ventilation & A/C professionals don’t know what to do with our device when they see it. Anyone I get that has experience with boilers tells me how outdated our model is. Apparently the boiler is over 80 years old, and replacement parts are not even made for it anymore. Also, a Heating, Ventilation & A/C contractor that would be familiar with the boiler system would be in his 90s.
So it is not looking positive re getting that boiler system fixed up. I am reluctant to lose that heating device though. It has been loyal to me for so long. I know that when I do eventually replace it, I will be getting a new boiler system; Boilers are freakishly powerful plus obviously can last around 80 years, so the boiler system will outlive me. I like the thought of that.
