We were having a really great spring. The weather was warm and the beautiful blue skis were a welcome sight after a long cold winter. The tulips and daffodils were blooming and it was very clear that we had lived through the winter and were rewarded with a lovely spring. But as we all know what follows spring is summer and the heat and humidity will force us inside just as the cold had in the winter. My wife reminded me that it was time to get the central air conditioning system tuned up before the summertime arrived. I usually had this done but some years I would forget and then we might have issues with our system on the hottest day of the summer. So I called our local HVAC service company. Their number was on a sticker that was on our furnace and AC system in the basement. So I never had to look for the number. I called and schedule an appointment for a few days later. The HVAC serviceman arrived and went to work checking over our whole central air system. He cleaned the compressor outside and did any adjustments to our system that kept it running smoothly all during the summer months. The service company usually has a special price for a tune up and ever better if you schedule a regular system check twice a year: once for the AC and then again in the fall for the furnace. This is a good way to avoid a surprise problem at the most inopportune time.
