Happy to at least have a/c

While we were never a family with particularly nice things, I have to say that our air conditioning unit was simply repulsive! When we moved into the house, the air conditioning unit was already about 10 years old… It was so dirty that the few times we ran the heater, the dust would burn up, causing a terrible odor. My mom’s a big procrastinator, so she constantly put off making an appointment with our local HVAC technician. It actually got to the point where the local HVAC companies were sending us fliers and promotions because it had been so long since we serviced our heating and cooling units. The major issue with our air conditioning was the layers of dust and dirt, however at that level, we needed something beyond air conditioning repair or cleaning or any other kind of air conditioning service. The best option would have been to have an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman come and perform an entire replacement of a new system, and a gas furnace replacement, and for all of my mom’s allergy bills, I suppose it would have been worth it. Although, I am not an expert, and I’m sure that HVAC technicians have their own strategies for bringing in the money. If I was an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C provider, I would always push my clients towards purchasing a new heating and cooling unit, rather than cleaning and repairing the current one. Cooling a condo should not involve swirling dust bunnies, and heating a condo should not involve the incineration of dust bunnies. If I was an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman, I’d say just pull the whole air conditioning and gas furnace out and substitute both.
