I am feeling quite content now

I am not a person of excess, and by that I mean I don’t have a lot of indulgences… I rarely go out to eat, usually making meals at my studio apartment to save money. But when I do go out, I will usually go anywhere cheap, like my local cafe. I have never once in my life owned a new car; the only ones that I buy are pre-owned. Any opportunity I get to save a few bucks, I always take advantage of… This is partially because of how I was raised. Though, I am also working to tuck some money away to one day buy a small home of my own… The only indulgence I splurge on is the usage of my air conditioning. Keeping my studio apartment well air conditioned at all times is the luxury I do allow myself. The cooling air is a welcome respite after a long work day spent toiling outside in the scorching sun; the AC provides a needed bit of rest for me. I would enjoy to have lower energy costs, and so when I do get a little cottage of my own I will make sure it has the most energy efficient heating and air conditioning method available; For now, buying a new ductless mini split AC would take all of my savings, so I am content to use the older one I already have. I did the math–it turns out no matter how much I reduce the AC usage, I would save at most thirty dollars a week. I suppose it is worth it to spend my money that little bit extra and keep myself crisp, cool, and air conditioned all week long.
