Sometimes I wonder if I could change up my career a little bit. For the past several years I have been working as an HVAC technician. I like my job because I enjoy problem solving, working with customers, and having a different task to do each day. However, I often wonder if I would be good at running an HVAC company. I know that this would grant me some more freedom in my personal life, and it would definitely be a way for me to up my income. I know a great deal about heating and cooling systems by this point, so I think I’m well-qualified when it comes to understanding the technology. One thing that concerns me is learning how to actually oversee and manage the business. I’m sure there are ways for me to learn, but moving into a position with such responsibility would be a big challenge. Maybe I could scout out someone who has business ownership experience who would be willing to help me get the HVAC company up and running. Some advice and guidance would really go a long way for me. I’m not much of a numbers person, but I feel confident that I could learn enough about finance to keep a small company afloat. This is something of a long-term goal for me. I really hope to see it through over the next several years! There is a need for another HVAC company in my city, so I think there’s a lot of potential. I can’t wait to see what direction this project takes me in!
