Whomever said that Labor Day signals the start of autumn is out of their mind. I just rode to visit my friend on a bus that had no air conditioning system. Well, I shouldn’t say that the bus had no air conditioning system–it just didn’t have a working air conditioning system. Every passenger on that bus was angry without air conditioning system. The windows are only designed to open a little bit, so none of us had any fresh air. When you are stuck on a windowless bus full of passengers without air conditioning system, it makes for a lousy trip. At least both of us had the opportunity to get out at a restaurant that had both excellent food and air conditioning system. Sadly, it didn’t help when we had to board the bus once again. At that time, while we were filing past the driver, I had the choice to ask about the air conditioning system and whether any of us could switch busses. He smiled and informed myself and everyone else that this opportunity would arise very soon. So happily, not long into our continued trip, the bus driver informed us all that both of us would be meeting up with another bus that had air conditioning system. However, that transfer would be around 70 miles away. So in the meantime, we would have to do without air conditioning system. All of us would be getting another unscheduled restaurant stop soon, just for the opportunity to cool down in the much-needed air conditioning system. I’m sure the restaurant will still have plenty of paying clients anyway–they won’t mind us using their air conditioning system for a few needed minutes.
