My girlfriend and I have been recently getting into numerous fights. You would think these arguments would be about someone cheating, something’s not working out, or that something wasn’t right, but that is not the case in our situation. The fights stem from the shrieking HVAC unit in her house. I have my own place not too far from her house but she insists that I stay with her more. I love her but I just cannot compromise to a loud AC firing up in the middle of the night when I am trying to sleep. It sounds like it is about to explode every time it comes on. I told her to get it checked out. I even offered to have it looked at. She consistently turns me down and says that she has gotten it inspected and that the technician said the unit will do this due to its age. The HVAC unit is apparently supposed to last another 10 years and work great. I do not think I can believe her because the HVAC system literally sounds like it is dying. It is either on the verge of death or failure and it’s just funny how it is taking my relationship with it. I need to explain to my girlfriend that she either needs to get the unit fixed or allow me to go sleep at my own home that is only 5 blocks away. She means everything to me but she is being undoubtedly stubborn about the AC unit. At one point, I thought of telling her parents; I am extremely close to them and they would probably tell her to do something about it at my discretion.
