My husband refuses to spend any money on our HVAC equipment. If the HVAC runs, he is happy. He does not pay for HVAC tune ups, maintenance or repairs if he feels it is not needed. The plus side is that my husband is totally oblivious though. I can sneak in HVAC tune ups easily. Anytime he goes away on a business trip, my HVAC gets some attention. He has a trip coming up and I already have a HVAC contractor ready to roll. I plan to get the whole works done too. I want the air conditioner to be cleaned inside and out. I want a new fan system put in the AC unit too because of the noise it makes. My furnace needs a new oil blower as well. The HVAC contractor and I have been going back and forth for days. I have been texting him pictures of the HVAC so he can get the right part. He has ordered them and is ready to install. My husband now just needs to leave the house so the HVAC equipment can get these parts. My husband won’t notice if the heater suddenly works way better. He won’t notice that the air conditioner no longer makes an odd sound. What is especially great is that he won’t notice that the parts and HVAC service date will be charged to his card. He just looks at the total on his bill and then blindly pays it. If he wanted to be more stingy on finances, he should look over his bill carefully.
