Sometimes we rent out our campers to people who are looking for a big camper to take out to a national park or a campground for a weekend. When we first started doing it, I was a little bit nervous about having strangers stay in our nice campers. I was scared that they would end up tearing up a bunch of stuff on the inside of the campers and then we’d be stuck making a whole bunch of repairs. Well, we ended up having to repair the worst and most expensive parts on both of the campers! As you probably have figured out, we had to replace the heating units and the air conditioning systems in each one of the campers. No one really wants to rent a big nice camper and there be no air conditioning in it, especially in the middle of summer when it’s burning hot outside. I don’t know if you know this, but campers get incredibly hot on the inside when there is no A/C going inside. It’s like trying to sleep inside a giant boiling hot tin can when you don’t have an air conditioning system. So it wasn’t like we could leave the A/C out of order! Same thing with the heating system inside the camper. Just like it’s burning hot inside them in the summer, campers are ridiculously cold in the wintertime. So we also had to get the heater repairs done along with the air conditioner repairs. Talk about some expensive repair bills! I just hope that the rental fees that we get out of our campers this year will make up for all of the HVAC repairs that we had to have done.
