Loud ac next door

The most challenging thing about residing in an apartment complex was getting used to the walls being way too thin. I grew up in a residence out in the country with my siblings, plus the people I was with and I were loud plus rambunctious! I lived in that old residence until I was twenty years old, at which point I made the decision to move into the city with a neighbor so I could be closer to university. It was especially frustrating to not only have to carry my laundry up plus down 3 flights of stairs to clean all of my clothes, however to also make sure I had at least 4 dollars in quarters! Still, as I mentioned before, the hardest change was learning to not be so loud. I could clearly hear the conversation our neighbors were having on the other side of the wall, which was enough to make myself and others guess there was just a large sheet of paper between us. What’s worse was how incredibly loud the heating plus a/c machines were in those apartments! There were times where I’d be asleep, only to be so startled by the a/c machine turning on that I practically fell out of bed! On the other side of the wall, our neighbors would run their A/C machine from dusk until dawn, so it sounded pretty much like I was trying to sleep in a boxcar! It was so annoying to myself and others that these heating plus a/c machines were so noisy, yet they only kept the apartment comfortable as long as it wasn’t hotter than 85 degrees or below freezing. I don’t miss residing in that old apartment, plus those memories only make me love our new residence that much more, and especially since our HVAC machine is only a year old, so it’s still new plus works great.
