I have been looking for a new job lately because I really don’t like my current job. I work at a fast food restaurant and I think it is time that I move on to something else. I really like the people I work with, but I don’t find the work interesting at all. I saw a posting on a job board that a local grocery store was looking for people to work in their warehouse. I thought this would be a good opportunity and the pay was higher than I was making now. So I applied and I got the job right away. They said I would be working in the freezer of the warehouse, but they would provide me with the proper gear to wear during my shifts. On my first day I knew it was going to be cold, but I didn’t expect that it would be quite as cold as it was. I was freezing the whole time even with the warm gear they gave me. The worst part was the breakroom room was almost as cold as the freezer, it was like they had the air conditioner blasting throughout the warehouse. However, after talking with some of my coworkers I learned this was not the case. In other sections of the warehouse they didn’t even turn on the air conditioner. They said it felt like the heater was turned on and it was the middle of the summer. It sounds like my new employer needs to get these HVAC issues under control or they are going to have some unhappy employees.
