I was so stressed when I got home from work the other night. The last thing I wanted to do was to find out that there was a problem with my HVAC system. My wife met me at the door to tell me that the thermostat was broke. I wanted to know why she didn’t call me and let me know and she said it was because I always got mad when she called me at work. My company didn’t like it when we received personal phone calls. My first thought was to call the HVAC company and asked them for some help. When I looked at the thermostat, I realized that there wasn’t any reading on the thermostat face. It hit me that it could just be the batteries had died. I went out to the kitchen and I grabbed some fresh batteries and I brought them back to put in the thermostat. We were both thrilled when the thermostat came to life. We reset the temperature and the air conditioner came to life. We both sat down and laughed. I was upset over needing to make repairs to the air conditioning unit. She was upset that I would be upset, and all it was was a dead battery. I have to admit that I really was glad that I didn’t have to make any repairs. I told her I was glad she didn’t call me at work. I probably would have told her to call the HVAC company and then we would have had a service call to pay for.
