I was at work, at a taxi company, answering the phone plus taking reservations on the computer when abruptly, the program all use for the reservations went down: not only on my computer but on every computer in the office. My coworkers and I started taking reservation on paper while the managers plus computer professional were scrambling about. The computer room is right behind reservation and I heard that the air conditioner had gone out in that room so the computer system that runs everything had gotten hot and crashed. Fans were quickly set up directing the air from our room into the laptop room. Meanwhile, our air conditioner was turned down as low as it could go, and i was freezing but they got the computer up and working within an hour. But of course, mistakes were made by everyone as we had tried to do our job without our programs, but a Heating plus A/C professional came out shortly thereafter to repair the air conditioner in the computer room. It was hard to hear our customers over all the tinkering that was going on. He was replacing the entire window air conditioner plus putting in ductless mini split system that he said was much more reliable for the kind of non-stop cooling that the computer room required! He said the window air conditioners were simply not built to run without stopping. I looked up at the window air conditioner keeping us cool in the reservations room plus wondered when we would get a replacement.
