We knew it was time to cram

It is funny how different climates in the United States can affect a person’s needs with their heating and cooling system.  I live in a region where it stays warm most of the year. When I first moved here when I looked for a place to live hardly any place even offered a heater.  Most apartments only offered a cooling system, because the heater is rarely, if ever, needed. I used to live in a region of the country where there were four very distinct seasons.  If you did not have a cooling system in the summer then you were going to overheat very quickly and be dripping sweat all summer long. In the winter if you didn’t have a good heating system you were going to freeze because there was a good chance the temperatures were freezing or below freezing.  There are other regions of the country where you rarely need an air conditioner because it is so cold all of the time. They have to run their heating system eight months out of the year and even in the summer the temperature is cool enough to not require a cooling system. HVAC businesses and providers have to be very aware of the type of climate they are dealing with so they have the right systems for sale and the right technicians.  You wouldn’t want an HVAC technician who was an expert with cooling systems working in an area that rarely used their cooling units. You also would not want to be selling expensive heating systems and mediocre cooling systems in a climate that rarely requires heaters.
