I am not one to keep up with the times; I have an ancient flip phone, desktop PC and my temperature control is a dial control from the 80s. I love this older technology though. It is durable and regularly runs fine, however my boy is trying to get my wife and I to update our phones and temperature control system. He wants my wife and I to trade in our flip phones for smartphones. I suppose we are not nearly smart enough to learn a new phone. We enjoy our little keyboards and we like that we can just shut our phones if we don’t understand them. My boy also wants our dial temperature control to be upgraded to a smart temperature control. Apparently, the current smartphone and current temperature control can work together, and from a new smartphone we should be have full temperature control. We would have the ability to turn on the AC, turn off the heat and control the speed of the fan on the HVAC. My boy also told my wife and I that we can set times for the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C to come on and off. We can even alerted by text about efficient temperature settings, different humidity levels or if the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C should need an air filter change. My boy is really excited, but there is no way we are going to make the change. Our dial temperature control works great. We control the temperature when inside the house. We have no need to turn it off when we are out. We don’t care a lick about humidity levels and we remember to change the air filter as needed. Neither do we need the temperature control to learn Heating, Ventilation, and A/C behaviors. My wife and I are easy animals when it comes to climate control.
