I take a lot of pride in my home and dedicate myself more than the average homeowner to keeping the place nice to live in. A lot of what I do is just maintenance. I am not the type of person who waits until the last possible moment to fix something. I feel that if I were to take that approach, I would be creating more problems than I am solving. For instance, it is important for me to have yearly maintenance done on my HVAC system. If the heating and cooling system is left to deteriorate over time without any upkeep, something will eventually break, but on top of that, there would likely be other smaller issues that would cost me even more money to fix. I know not everyone has this same mindset, and I think that is just fine. For me, this way gives me peace of mind, and I also feel that I save money in the long run. Yes, I do pay an annual fee for the maintenance package that I subscribe to through my HVAC company, however it is worth it to avoid having a big issue that would cost me an arm and a leg. Like I said, that is just what works for me. It is what I believe is the best choice. I’m sure there would be other people who disagree, and that is fine too. Everyone has their own way of doing things. I mean, I’m that guy who needs to pay the bills as soon as they come in. The guy who needs everything to be clean or otherwise I’ll be majorly stressed out. My HVAC repairman knows me well, and he originally brought the whole maintenance plan option to my attention because he knew it would interest and benefit me. I am really lucky to have him in my corner!
