It took several years before my wife and I were able to afford to buy a house. Up until then, we had rented some homes and they were usually older homes. The heating and air conditioning were basic, if not nonexistent. When we began to look for our home, we made a list of what was important for that home. I knew that one of the things I wanted in the house, was smart control equipment. Specifically, I wanted a Smart Thermostat. I had heard all about the Smart Thermostat. I loved the idea of being able to keep watch on the thermostat settings and on our energy use, with a few taps on my cell phone. Since we have two teenage boys who don’t know yet what it is to have to worry about energy bills, they are always fiddling with the thermostat. If they turn the air conditioning too low, we can always adjust it back with our telephones. It seems they love playing with the thermostat. It is too easy to turn the dial and get more heat if they are a bit cold. I keep telling them to get a sweater, but they don’t want to hear that. Since we know we want to get the Smart Thermostat, we will also need to have a HVAC system that is compatible to a Smart Thermostat. I guess will be looking for a more updated home with a good HVAC system already in place. Maybe we’ll already have the Smart Thermostat when we get there. I like knowing that I can have the Smart Thermostat and always be in control of our heating and air conditioning.
