I get so many texts from people and companies I don’t know, and I am always puzzled as to how they found my phone number in the first place. The white pages aren’t exactly widespread these days, you know. Apparently, if you happen to enter your phone number on any one website, it is distributed to at least five more sites almost instantly! Usually I ignore these messages, but I received this text from a business offering tips on how to beat the heat as you drive. It gave a few useful suggestions as to how to maximize the use of your car’s AC system, so I figured the tips could be worth practicing.
One recommendation is to be careful where you park. The AC in your vehicle reduces the temperature by about forty degrees, so if you park in a shaded area, your AC will blow out cooler air. Of course, the air gets even cooler as you drive! Set your thermostat to recirculate the air too, so the AC will only need to chill the already cool air. If you are in the habit of pre-cooling your vehicle before you drive, quit it! Your AC does a much better job while you are driving down the highway with the wind blowing along your path. Additionally, you must remember to change your vehicle’s AC filters when necessary! When the filters are clogged, the air you need cannot flow as it should. I hear that demonstrations on how to clean and replace your vehicle AC filters are available online, so there’s no excuses.
I feel these are all wonderful tips, so I am going to try to put them into practice. They will help save gas, allow the car’s AC system to work more effectively, and improve the quality of the ride.
