My preferred thing to do when it’s incredibly chilly chilly outside is curl up on the couch and watch a good film alone. We experience long winters where I live, so snowy days are a regular occurrence during the middle of the Winter months. A few years ago, I made some big renovations already at my house so that my house would be even more comfortable than I think it was before on chilly days. So, I had radiant heated floors installed for myself! A heated flooring idea was something I had regularly heard a few good things about. Several of my close friends had them, and they already told myself and others that they never had to worry quite a bit about warming their houses quickly and efficiently. Aside from simply being able to stay cozy, I was especially interested in how I could try to reduce my power bill by making my house more efficient. It turned out that these radiant heated floors saved energy because they disperse hot air far more evenly than a traditional Heating, Ventilation and A/C unit. Regular oil furnaces really often end up over laboring because they are only able to send treated air through a few vents. This means that they have to run a bit longer every cycle just to get the same amount of hot air in the house. Now that I have put in a radiant flooring system, my house entirely is my sanctuary. I often don’t often step foot outside of it on the weekends, and it’s because I know it’s always more comfortable there than somewhere else. I know I am lucky to have a home that I like so much. If I didn’t have to just leave it all winter, I think that I would feel fine with that!
