My thermostat is working; finally.

I genuinely should look into some of my purchases more closely. A few years ago when our furnace system broke, I wanted to update it with a new gas furnace! I then studied and heard about radiant floors and liked what I was told. So, I jumped on the radiant flooring chance and scheduled the HVAC installation instantly. I should have looked into how the heating system is installed. Instead, I had to find out while the heating and air conditioning company was there. My brand new home office carpeting had to be ripped up in order to locale the electric mats under the floors. My number one tile in the kitchen was pried up for the mats… Also our wood flooring that was original to the beach house was totally ruined. I had to get new flooring for the living room and it is just not the same. All of the work that involved ripping up the floors cost me too. I had to spend our savings for that, the heating installation and to set up brand new floors on top of it. It was way more of a heating expense than I was expecting. However now having the radiant floors, I do appreciate them…but, I don’t appreciate the heated floors enough to warrant that big cost. A simple furnace or fireplace would have just set right up in the living room. It would have taken hours, not afternoons, there would only be one cost with the heating system installation too. Next time I need a big expense, I will look more into what comes with it. I don’t want to be surprised like this again.
