During the summer, both of us usually attend a soccer camp to get ready for the upcoming university soccer season. It’s a fantastic way to get back in playing shape before the university year starts again, especially after taking the early section of the summer time off for trips & whatnot. This year the outside temperatures were in the mid-nineties, so both of us were taking frequent breaks to get water & cool off for a few minutes. The soccer camp was sponsored by the university, so they rented these big portable a/c units to set up by the benches, & there were shade stands set up as well. After practice, both of us all would meet up in the locker room & cool off. This was a fantastic option not only to cool down in the a/c, but to go over our drills & discuss our playing with the coaches & staff. There was a notable difference in the temperature in the locker room from last year, it was much cooler in there now. The strength & conditioning coach on staff was telling me about all the changes they had made to the facility, & installing a modern HVAC plan in the locker room areas was a single of those. The modern plan also helped remove humidity from the air, so the cool air coming out of the overhead vents was nice & comfortable, not chilly & clammy. It sure makes a important difference in comfort to have a nice facility to practice at, helping to keep us cool on the field & in the locker room.
