Being a person from the south, I have a lot of respect for ceiling fans & A/Cs, but all those shows on cable show designers getting rid of ceiling fans from homes, but that just isn’t going to happen to any home near me; we would not give up a/c, & we particularly wouldn’t take down our ceiling fans, no matter what; Ceiling fans are vital to our comfort! Some people even hand ceiling fans on their front porches in their homes or screened in decks, then the interesting thing about ceiling fans that not everyone knows, but, is that it does really not nice to leave your ceiling fan running if you are not in the room, then it is widely known that a ceiling fan will allow your a/c to shut off more, but the only reason for that is that the ceiling fan makes you feel a lot cooler than you honestly are. The fan doesn’t really cool the space at all. It doesn’t even move the cooled air around, causing a lower temperature, and using a ceiling fan allows you to be more comfortable with a higher thermostat setting, being able to set your thermostat higher is what saves your a/c some work & saves you some much-needed cash on your utility bill, but people can believe ceiling fans are not good looking all they want, I am not taking mine down. The ceiling fan in our living room broke once, & I decided to be without rather than pay for another a new one, but well, 2 days later I was at Kmart getting another a new one.
